What Happens When a Bulb Goes Out
Usually nothing else goes dark. Here's why, what to check, and what we do about it.
One Bulb Out Stays One Bulb Out
Commercial C9 LEDs screw into sockets on a heavy cord and each bulb is on its own. When one fails, the rest of the run stays lit. Box-store mini lights are wired in series, which is why a single failure can darken a whole section on a DIY house.
If a Whole Section Is Dark
That's the outlet, not the lights, nine times out of ten. Check the timer's indicator light, press reset on the outdoor GFCI outlet, then check the breaker. The three-step check takes two minutes and usually beats a service call.
What We Do
Text a photo of what you see to 440-276-4664. You hear back the same day. Anything that's our fault is fixed at no charge for as long as the lights are up, within 48–72 hours, weather permitting. There's no service-call fee and no dispatch fee. Please don't pull a dead bulb; the socket stays live and we bring the replacement.
Why 48–72 and Not 24
Because we'd rather write a number we keep on every December day than a faster one we keep on most of them. Ice, high wind, and heavy snow can push a visit, and you'll hear from us before it does.
Related Questions
Does a service visit cost anything?
No. Service is inside the season price. Damage from pets, vehicles, or someone else's ladder is billed at cost.
The lights come on at the wrong time. Is that a service call?
Usually not. The timer's clock drifts after a power blip. Text us the time on the timer and we'll walk you through resetting it or fix it on the next visit.
