Shaker Heights was planned as a whole by the Van Sweringen brothers, who allowed three families of house style, English, Colonial, and French, and set rules for materials, lot layout, and where the garage went. Most of the city now sits inside the Shaker Village National Register district, and the houses still look designed together. The lighting should respect that. Shaker Heights is about 30 minutes from our base, at the western end of our route, so we group installs there by week and confirm your window by text.

How We Light Shaker Heights Homes
Many Shaker homes have slate or tile roofs, steep street-facing gables, and garages toward the back of the lot. We keep every clip on the gutter and fascia so nothing touches the roof, trace the main eave and the gables you see from the sidewalk, and frame the entrance. A Tudor's gables carry the design, a center-hall colonial stays symmetrical, and a French-style home gets its roofline and doorway picked out and little else.

Terms run 2, 3, or 5 seasons. The per-season price steps down on the longer terms, and every season's price is written into the agreement. A 50% deposit holds your date; the balance is due at install.
Takedowns happen in January, weather permitting. If anything goes out during the season, text a photo, hear back the same day, and anything that's our fault is fixed within 48–72 hours, weather permitting, at no charge. Does Shaker's architectural review cover seasonal lights?
The Architectural Board of Review approves permanent changes to a building's exterior. A seasonal install is temporary: clips on the gutter and fascia, nothing screwed in, down in January. If you want it confirmed for your address, the city's building department can answer, and we send a certificate of insurance to anyone who asks.
My house has its original slate roof. Can you light it?
Yes. On slate and tile, every clip stays on the gutter and fascia and nothing touches the roof surface. We check the gutters at the site walk, since the design depends on them.
What about permanent lighting on a Shaker home?
A permanent track is a permanent exterior change, so we confirm what the city requires before we quote one. Our permanent installs begin in spring 2027; this season, seasonal C9s are the straightforward choice.
